What Does "upper Right Fibrosis" In A Lung X-ray Mean?
hello, can i ask about PTB minimal?
I have had a PTB minimal year 1996 when i was on college. I've went through all the medications needed for six month and it was cured. Year 2006 my chest x-ray was cleared and year 2010 as well. Sputum result was also clear.
Recently i had my medical examination for my canadian immigration application but my medical results says that "upper right fibrosis" have seen.
So Canadian immigration requested a repeat x-ray and a sputum examination result.
Does it mean that the bacteria is again active in my lungs? Am i not fit to work?
Please appreciate if you could answer my query. Thanks a ton!!!!
The tubercular infection leads to sequelae in the form of fibrosis. Fibrosis does not indicate active infection and it does not indicate that sputum test for tubercular infection will be positive. For the sake of your medication examination, you can get sputum examination. Western countries are very stringent about their medical rules especially regarding tuberculosis since tuberculosis is very rare in western world. Fibrosis is an indirect indication of tubercular infection for the medical examiners thus, they want to be double sure regarding absence of tubercular infection.
