hi i wanna know about this report,that was done to know about the multiple myeloma.the following is the report.

Spc Nature:CT GUIDED BIOPSY

Spc Site:BACK

History:Backache.

Gross: Specimen container is labeled with the patient's name and medical record number and unmarked for site.Received in formalin are two cylindrical cores of tissue ranging in size from 0.3 cm to 1.0 cm in length and


Micro: IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICALSTAIN:

Cytokeratin: Negative

Diagnosis:BACK, CT GUIDED BIOPSY:
Fragments of fibrocollagenous and fibroadipose tissue (see note).

Note : Biopsy does not appear to be representative of the lesion. Rebiopsy is recommended.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

This report simply says that the material analysed from biopsy was not taken properly from the problem area. The pathologist has asked for a second biopsy from a better part of the area to give a probable diagnosis.

This is a very common occurrence when patient moves while doing biopsy or the needle has not gone deep enough to take biopsy of required material from the lesion.
