What Does Single Focus Of Nonspecific Hyperintensity In Corona Radiata Mean?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...
Hi, my 22 year old daughter had a grand mal seizure (no previous history of them) upon doing a MRI showed single small focus of nonspecific T2 hyperintensity in left corona rediata. what does this mean. Family history of brain anyursm, eplipsy and ms.
The MRI brain shows a small white area on T 2 and this is not specific for any condition. The corona radiata is a part of the white matter in brain adjacent to lateral ventricles and not a critical area. This finding may have to do with a focus of decreased blood supply or loss of myelin covering of the nerves at that location. As such it is not a serious finding but might be responsible for seizures if EEG gives a similar correlation to general of abnormal brain activity.
