You have a spleen that is slightly larger than normal. It is important to know the reason for your ultrasound scan. Splenules result from the failure of the splenic anlage to fuse during the fifth week of fetal life. Splenules are incidental findings of little clinical significance in most patients. They are most commonly located in splenic hilum near the tail of the pancreas and must be differentiated from any abnormality.
