What Does Swollen And Painful Toe And Ankle Mean ?
i stubbed my big toe over a week ago. it has been a bit tender but nothing to worry about. 2 nights ago i cut the nail on my big toe, it bled a little but again nothing to worry about. however now my big toe is extremely painful and swollen and so is my ankle . my toe is a bit red and i can barely walk or even touch my toe or foot . could i have an infection and need antibiotics

Hi boy accedently you got cut to your nail bed owing to which you had bleeding and the same is the reason ofvyourvswelling and inflamation. U should show to your family dr get it cleaned and dressing properly and takechis advice for pain killer and antibiotic whichvis very important. Bye the time u can safelyvtake any painkiller and move to your dr. Bye and take care.

You had an injury which caused soft tissue injury. This was followed by a bacterial infection due to the self induced nail cutting. you have developed cellulitis which is infection of the soft tissues. It is spreading up.
