What Does The X-ray Report With Increased Opacity In Cardiac Border Indicate?
i just had a chest xray and the report states
The cardiac mediasitinal contours are within normal limits, The lungs and pleural spaces are clear, No focal area of consolidation, Increased opacity in the left lower zone adjacent to the left cardiac border is though to be composite shadow, what does this mean? I had a sever chest infection last year and ever since then feel like I have fluid on the lower part of my left lung. Thanks
welcome to Health care magic. 1.The report says there is some opacity which is seen adjacent to the cardiac border on left side. 2.So it can be an infection / inflammatory changes , or located pleural effusion. 3.In this case, if you are my treating doctor i would have ask for a antibiotic treatment depending on your symptoms and check with a followup x-ray. 4.If resolved well and good, if not then i would go for further investigations like CT chest. 5.Your symptoms are corresponding to your findings, all you have to do is see your GP and get treated. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
