Age 55 male. Had biopsy to reveal "a broad, flat based proliferation of small, basaloid keratinocytes with focal formation of horn pseudocysts." I received a call from the office of the physician's who ordered the biopsy that it was not cancerous. However, on a couple of web sites, I found statements such as "Basal cell carcinomas arise from keratinocytes near the basal layer and can be referred to as basaloid keratinocytes." What the doctor told me seems at odd with such statements.
Hi, dear. I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern about carcinoma. But you dont have any carcinoma as per your biopsy report. Of course basaloid carcinoma arise from keratinocytes. But you have non malignant conditions. basaloid keratinocytes is the cells normally present in basal layer of epidermis. so don't worry. just be relaxed. You don't have any cancer. hope i have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. wish you a very good health
