What Does The Cholesterol Level In My Blood Test Indicate?

I'm 54 yr old female, colorectal survivor of 10 years...a blood test this week informed me that my cholesteral is 271, triglycerides 340, LDL 135 and thyroid is 12.130...cancer scared me but this is a diff. kind of scare...I don't want to take synthetic drugs and will be seeing a natural path next week...what should I be concerned about, there is so much info on line not sure what to believe...I'm tired, tummy problems with bloating and it doesn't matter what I eat, can't loose wieght no matter how much I exercise and struggle with depression...your thoughts

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of the lipid profile is as follows:
The level of total cholesterol is raised. The normal level should be below 11 mg/dl.
The LDL level should be below 100 mg/dl.
The level of triglyceride is also elevated.

Thus, in all the lipid profile is deranged.
You need to consult your physician for prescription of lipid lowering drugs.

Thanks for your question on HCM. Your lipid profile is very altered. In my opinion you should consult doctor (M.D.) and not naturopath doctor. Your Cholesterole, Triglyceride and LDL are very much high. Out of three, two are most dengerous for coronary heart disease.
1 triglyceride(normal 2. LDL(normal You have both of these raised. So you should ideally condult M.D. doctor and start Lipid Lowering drugs like statins.
