I had an renal ultrasound complete with bladder because of microscopic hematuria. Findings: Chronic Medical Renal Disease which basically means there is not a specific diagnosis. The abdomen and pelvis CT had unremarkable impressions. What can possible be going on
Microscopic hematuria may be due to chronic renal parenchymal disease like Alport's syndrome, polycystic kidney disease, sickle hemoglobin etc. You need proper clinical examination and complete renal examination. It is also important to see proteinuria. You need investigations like serum urea & creatinine,GFR,Creatinine clearance, serum electrolytes etc. Treatment depend upon clinical findings and investigation reports. Hope I have answered your question.
