My father underwent xray this month because he had a persistent cough and had on and off fever. One of the results on the xray was: Scattered reticulat and calcific densities are seen bilaterally most likely old koch's.
I searched the Internet about old kochs but could not find any info about it. Is this something we need to worry about?
1.The report suggest calcific densities and reticular opacities scattered bilateral lung fields - likely old treated pulmonary tuberculosis. 2.In case of pulmonary tuberculosis after treatment they leave a trace after healing like reticular densities, calcifications and granulomatous changes. 3.They remain for years together - as long as there is no active infection, nothing to worry about. 4.For the present cough and fever seems like infective aetiology. 5.A course of antibiotic will be enough for the present condition. Good luck.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
