General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there,

I am sorry for the situation you are in.

Developing canker sore, swollen jaw line and temples are related to viral infection. Getting difficulties in swallowing foods is related to edema (inflammation) caused by virus.

Dulera inhaler is a combination therapy containing :
- formoterol (long-acting broncho-dilatator)
- mometasone (steroid)

This combination inhaler will improve your breathing and reducing inflammation and edema caused.

The symptoms would take few days until they improve. Meanwhile, I advise to:
- increase fluids intake
- take acetaminophen to reduce pain, inflammation or fever
- take good oral hygiene : gargle with water and salt
- I always advise my patients to take 1 teaspoon of olive oil and honey on daily basis.

If no improvement, or the symptoms will get worst, then, should get checked by your doctor to rule out pneumonia.

Wish fast recovery!
