Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My grandaughter is 4 years old and has had problems moving her bowles since she was born . It has gotten to the point she still wears diapers and has been on miralax for about a year. The Dr. seems to think she may have hershberger syndrome. I know she does not feet around the outside. What are we looking at for her recovery. He is doing a test in a couple weeks like a colonoscopy where is putting her to sleep.
HI Well come to HCM The Hershberger syndrome is the congenital defect of colon that lack in nerve supply and this happens due to the genetic constitution surgical repair can be done but the prognosis would be questionable, if the aganglionic part is less then surgical out come would be fine, hope this information helps.
