What Is The Meaning Of Lower Uterine Segment And Endocervix, There Is Complex Heterogeneous Free Fluid?
My US report showed that my uterus measures 7.3 x 3.4 x 5.9 cm and appears homogeneous. Within the fundus, the endometrium measures 6 mm. In the lower uterine segment and endocervix, there is comples heterogeneous free fluid. No evidence of nodule or mass. No evidence of obstruction. What is this meaning in plain english?

Inorder to understand this ultrasound report first you need to know the structure of the uterus.
Uterus in common language is called 'womb',
It is a pear shaped organ with a broad upper base and a conical mouth facing downwards. It is lined by a lining called endometrium. The thickness of endometrium varies in different phases of the menstrual cycle.
A pair of tubes called fallopian tubes or uterine tubes are attached to the base of the uterus. The base is also called fundus.
Your ultrasound report says that your uterus measures approximately 7x3x5cm which is the normal size of non-pregnant uterus. The thickness of endometrium in the fundus region is 6mm. There is some fluid in the lower uterine segment which could be a mucus plug. There is no evidence of any mass or nodule in this region. To me it is a normal pelvic ultrasound.
