What Is The Orange Oily Substance That Floats On The Bowels?

I am a 46 year old female with hypothyroidism. About a month ago I started experiencing an orange oily substance in my stool. It looks like grease and floats on the top. My stool looks relatively healthy. I really have not changed my diet and I haven't eaten any fish. I do eat a lot of nuts, but I've been doing that for years and have never had any problems. When I pass gas, this "orange" grease passes through my anus. I've had this happen to me many years ago, but it went away right away. This time, it doesn't really seem to want to go away. What does this mean?
