What Is The Reason For Pancreatitis And Stomach Bloating When The Gall Bladder Removal Being Scheduled?

My brother is in the hospital in Nova Scotia and I am in Ontario trying to get some info
about his condition. I am told he will be having his gall bladder removed but they are treating him
right now for pancreitis and his stomach is so swollen and he is in so much pain that they are keeping
him sedated and waiting for the swelling to go down before they can do anything.
Can you give me any ideas about what causes this and what I can expect

Hi...the abdominal swelling could be due to ileus following pain and pancreatitis as he must be kept nil by mouth...or could be due to acsites (reactionary fluid)... both will resolve with treatment... you need not worry...
