What Is The Treatment For Borderline Hypothyroidism?
Hello, I was told I had borderline hypothyroidism, and my dr put me on 100 mcg. I couldn't get my rx refilled d/t work schedule for the last month. My period was 6 days late and I thought it started yesterday, but all that has happened is some very light spotting, which is not my normal cycle at all! I am on not birth control and me and my husband are not preventing pregnancy. Im curious as to what could cause this weird change in my period when I have always been regular and only been on synthroid for a couple months.
Hello and thank you for asking on HCM! I can understand your concern. First i would recommend to do a pregnancy test. Often occurs to have bleeding when the zygota is implanted in uterus and it may be a sign of pregnancy. Secondly i would recommend to check the TSH level because the dose you are taking is high and while planning a pregnancy the TSH should be monitored closely. It should be under 2.5 mUi/ml in order to conceive and have a normal pregnancy outcome.
