hi doctor i am following a weight loss program i have not joined any gym i am just going for a jog 5 days a week for 40 mins & follwing a diet i am 25 & work in a mobile company I have got a heartmeter with the chest strap it has a feature which says that it can estimate the fat burnt it does calculates & gives the calorie burnt also i want to know how does it measure the fat burnt by capturing my heart rates n exercise time the device gives fat burnt readings in g, which i dont understand any idea about the unit in which fat burnt is measured
One gram of fat is approximately 9 calories if your hear rate during the exercise is say X/min and you exercise for about 40 mins at that rate then I think the machine calculates how much of calories you burn and translates it into fat in grams. But it need not all be fat only it is only an approxiamte
the best exercises to lose weight are the exercises called cardio workouts - like jogging/ cycling there is no additional benefit ongoing to a gym to lose weight , except for toning the body I am not familiar with the machine you have mentioned
