What Precautions Need To Be Taken For Amputated Index Finger Post Treatment?

3 days ago I accidentally amputated a large section of the lateral tip and palmer surface of my left index finger. I went to emergency and the would was bleeding intensely. The doctor decided to cauterize with silver nitrate sticks. He used about 15-20, he said that's the most he had ever used and added that he hoped he did not give me argeria. He then got the ER nurse to put Surgisil and a tube bandage on and he gave me a prescription for Percocet. Other than to leave the dressing on for 45 days he didn't tell me what to do for care after the dressing comes off, can you help me>
