What Should Be Done In Your Opinion If Having A Dry Gangrene On Big Toe?
My husband has dry gangrene on his big toe and the top of his foot. The vascular surgeon wants to wait one week to see what to do with it after taking an ABI test. The foot doctor wants to have outpatient surgery right away to remove the dead tissue and do a skin graf. What do I do?
hi, Opinions vary and both of them are correct. your vascular surgeon might not have felt any emergency, as is the case with dry gangrenes, as they are generally clean wounds (with little infection, if at all). however, as you are going to require surgery sooner or later, i suggest you get it done sooner. Atleast, it saves you pain. all the best.
