What Should I Do For Dry Mouth?

I was eating a banana and my tongue started swelling. It is very red and very uncomfortable. I do have geographic tongue & have had some sores in my mouth (lip area) recently. My dentist suggested dry mouth. My tongue is very swollen. Should I go to the hospital?
