What Should The Insulin Dosage Be Based On The FBS And PPBS?
sir, i am a doctor ny myself.. doing postgraduation in pharmacology. My husband s (type 1 DM patient) current FBS value has come as 256 and PPBS as 360.. he is currently taking 24 units of insulin in the morning and 16 units in the evening. please sir..let me know how much should he continue taking hereonwards based on his present FBS nad PPBS values
Dear Doctor, Great to know that you are a pharmacology pg. unfortunately you missed out mentioning the type of insulin your husband is taking. However if he is on premix insulin increase night dose by 4 units till he reaches the near normal target. If he is on short acting insulin increase the dose by 2 units.
