What To Do For Getting Noise In Head?

Hi,

I had throat and chest infection and after that I have started getting head noise. I was given antibiotics and it feels that my infection is reduced and my chest/nose is clear. However there is no improvement in my head noise. Do I need to get CT scan done? What this could be due to? Do I need to consult neurologist or ENT doctor? Please advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I have gone through your query.
Head noise (Tinnitus) in your case is due to respiratory tract infection. Due to infection there might be blockage of Eustachian Tube resulting in muscle spasm inside middle ear.
As such there is no cure for Tinnitus but treatment of underlying cause be done.
You have to consult ENT specialist for proper clinical examination and investigations. CT scan may not be required.
