What To Do For Shooting And Throbbing Like Pain In Right Buttock When I Cough, Sneeze Or Bend?
Hello
Recently i have acquired a new job that requires me to walk for long periods of time, Up and down stairs and also involves lifting. After i started working for about a month I noticed one morning when i woke up, I Coughed to clear my throat and noticed a shooting and throbbing like pain in my Right Buttock. I then tried to bend downward to touch my toes for a stretch and felt the same feeling in the same area. It has been about 3 months now altogether and i am still having this pain every time i Sneeze, Cough, or Bend down a certain way to touch my toes. I am not having problems going to the bathroom but am definitely tired of the soreness and pain i feel all the time now. Any idea's on what could be the issue..??
Hi, Your symptoms suggest you may have a prolapsed disc in your back, possibly lumbar area which is the lower back. When you cough, bend or any form of straining this causes the disc to bulge and the bulging will put pressure on nerves near the disc resulting in pain. I suggest you see your doctor to discuss further investigation. This would include MRI of your back. In the meantime, paracetamol and ibuprofen will help the pain.
