What To Do If Having Osteoporosis, Arthritis In The Area After Three Pelvic Fractures Previously?
I AM 70 yr old female with history of three pelvic fractures from fall in 2009.no treatment offered by physicians other than bed rest initially;some pt after 1-2 months.also have osteoporosis treated currently with recast injections,vitamin d & calcium,hydrocodone 5/325 for pain along with meloxicam& cymbals for fibromyalgia.Recently had sudden onset severe pain rt groin area.pain increases with weight bearing and walking.feels better when lay down & use ice.Had xray and then MRI.result is arthritis in area 3 pelvic fractures.experiencing same run around I got with initial fractures.no one seems to know what to do so internal med Dr refers to rheumatologist;she refers to chronic pain Dr etc.have call in to ortho Dr to request consult.what can I do?thank you!

Check your bone strength with DEXA SCAN and you can start medication according to level of osteoporosis, You need to start supplement of calcium with vitamin D, vit B12, I will advise you to do regular physiotherapy and exercises as my patients find much relief by these therapies.
You need to take diet rich in calcium and vitamin D.
