What Would MRI Show When Having Large Fibroid Cyst On Right Ovary?
Hi, I have a large fibroid cyst on my right ovary, approximately grapefruit size, my OB/Gyn doctor is recommending an MRI. I have already had a CAT scan and intrauterine sonogram. What would an MRI show? He also discussed a historectomy with me. I am 49 years old.
At this age, the ovarian cyst has to be evaluated thoroughly because there is always a chance of cancerous change.
MRI can provide better anatomical detail, and if there is anything suspicious, both ovaries along with uterus will be removed by a procedure called staging laparotomy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
