Hello my husband has Avery blue, red hernia in the belly button he has did everything to ad void seeing the doctor and iam at the end with him I just noticed as he step out of the show. His just turned 61 and it is scaring me, so I decided to look it up. The ball looks a little blue and it s turning a differs colour to when I last looked at it. Please could you help so I can c tell him how silly he is about putting this off. I would have to say it would be just under the size of a 50 cent pice. Thank you
Please, all hernia needs to be repaired. If not, the risk of having strangulation is real and can be fatal. Surgery is often very minor for such hernia and may even be done as outpatient basis. Even if he does not want surgery, let him get it evaluated so that he can know what the various options are and what the risk of doing nothing are. I understand your worries and how difficult it is to have a loved one who ignores taking care of his health.
I hope he finds a reason to get this checked out pretty soon. I wish him well. Courage to you.
