When Should I Continue With My Regimen After Being Diagnosed?
Hello. I went to a doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with an iliofemoral ligament sprain. I'm not experiencing pain - it's more of an annoying discomfort. I was was only painful when the doctor was pressing down on the area. Since I try to go to the gym on routine basis, when should I continue with my regimen?
As background, I had an inguimal hernia repair done several years. I was being cautious about a possible relapse which is the reason why I went to see a doctor.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows: 1. If its a sprain, you can go back to your routine within 10 days. 2. As there is no muscle tear, it wont be a problem 3. In view of your previous history of hernia, avoid anything with exercises which increases intra-abdominal pressure. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
