Which Antibiotics Helps With Low Fever In Children?

dear doctor,
my son is 18 months old.he had runny nose since 2 days.today he started having low grade fever 99.5 degree farenht with lot of runny nose & throat irritation.shall i give him any antibiotics.by the way,a week ago my 6 yr old daughter had viral fever &she is recoverng from that.pls suggest.

Hi.... by what you Quote I feel that your kid is having a viral fever. This does not require antibiotics. Usually when viral fever starts it will be there for 4 or 5 days. Unless the kid i's having fast breathing or fits or seizures or bleeding manifestations or Rash over the body you need not worry about fever. What is more important is the activity of the kid when the fever comes down. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever it is Viral illness. You need not use antibiotics for this.
