Hello geetha
After any major surgery its better to wait at least 4-6 months before any exercise id done.Esp if you want to get into shape, then you will have to undergo a lot of stress. You can do any type of exercise that you like like power walking, yoga, gym etc.If you are totally new to all this then it would be better if you worked with a professional trainer to avoid wrong exercises. As for diet, you need to increase proteins and reduce carbs/fat in your diet.Nowadays, special diet charts are made for people training for wt loss/shapeing up.Most of the gyms have dieticians who can work out a chart for you.
