Which Particular Hormones Need Testing For Acute Acne?
Am 23 years old. I have a history of acne since the past six years. I have used topical treatments but nothing worked. If i need to get a blood test done for hormonal imbalance for which test should i go or for which particular hormones should i get my blood tested?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acne on face since 6 years which is because infection of sebaceous gland under the hair follicle , when sebum get accumulated in clogged duct of sebaceous gland along with dead skin and bacteria they produce acne. Need not to owrry. You should get your hormonal levels (testosterone / estrogen) monitored. I would suggest you to drink plenty of water. Apply apple cider vinegar. Apply vitamin E oil at night. Avoid greasy creams ,use water based products. Don't pick or touch acne. Wash you face 2-3 times a day with mild soap and warm water to prevent the accumulation of oil ,dust and bacteria on your face. If acne still persists consult dermatologist for proper examination .Doctor may prescribe clindamycin , ointments containing benzyol peroxide, azelaic acid or retinoids. You can go for laser therapy as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
