Why Insulin Needs To Be In The Fridge Before Opening It ?

Hi, I can t understand why Insulin needs to be in the fridge before opening it and then left outside of the fridge once opened. What is the reason for this? And more importantly do you have to leave the insulin at room temp for a bit before taking the first dose ? Thanks for the speedy answers, but im really looking for a Why ? Why dont you put the pen in the fridge, if it is so importnat for the unopened pack to be in the fridge ? It doesn t make much sense to me. Hence the question.

insulin is a hormone and it should be stored in the temperature of 2 to 8 c for the maintainance of the potency. once the temperature exceeds the limits it may loose its potency hence kept in the fridge.
