Why Did My Hiatus Hernia Flare Up After Taking Penicillin For Throat Infection?

hi , I have been prescribed penicillin VK 250mg 4 times a day for a throat infection, I also have a hiatus hernia which I have had for many years, in the last week it has started to flare up, just wondering if it could be the penicillin as that s the only thing that has changed. ? thanks

Hello dear,
After going through your history, I believe you have some genuine concern and I will try to help you out of this situation.

Hernia is protrusion of gut through any weakness in the muscular wall of belly. Hence any abnormal force from inside your belly, like straining at defecation OR prolong cough an lead to flaring up the condition. Please do not blame the innocent pill ( Penicillin), which might be in severe depression due to your allegation.
