Why Do I Wake Up With Upper Body Shakes And Clenching Teeth?
For the last few weeks I have been awoken from sleep and my upper body is shaky and I'm tense and clenching my teeth. I hesitate to use the word "palpating" but I feel like I've had a nasty surprise, my heart feels like it is pounding and it takes me ages to drop off to sleep again. I still have frequent night hot flushes as well. I am a 62 year old woman, retired but keeping reasonably fit and I don't feel ill. I've had regular blood pressure tests and it is usually around 138 over 80 or 90. I take Nexium anti relfux tables daily. Could the problem be a side effect of the tablets?
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. This is not side effect of medication nexium. 2. It appears to be related to disturbed sleep and anxiety along with stress. 3. Relaxation and meditation is necessary. Anti-anxiety medications like beta blockers may be necessary. 4. You are having severe palpitations due to anxiety. Continue taking nexium, no side effect. Meet your doctor for anti anxiety medication and prescription. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
