Why Does My Heart Skip A Beat?

Hi , My heart keeps skipping beats and I am short of breath alot , and I am also very tired all the time , I have had a 3 day monitor and of course only caught a couple of palpitations , my Family Dr. says nothing to worry about so why am I short of breath and tired all the time . I will have days where I will get 20 or more of these skipped beats and then some days 1- 2 . should I see a cardiologists , these skipped beats really bother me and sometimes take my breath away , should I be concerned ?

Cardiologist 's  Response
In this case continuous heart rhythm monitoring for couple of weeks with newer portable devices will help cardiologist to come to a good conclusion . This will also record the event and will be useful to study in detail , as well as it also instructs cardiologist in case of serious events .
Thx

Hi.. Voluntary breathing disturbances can also cause alterations in the heart rate. So if the monitoring did not show positive signs of arrhythmia's then you may not really be having the condition.. The breathing disturbances may be due to stress and other psychogenic cause.. Do not bother on this.. Regular sleep and adequate diet habits with a bit of relaxing measures that include meditation and yoga may help.. If the problems persists or its disturbing daily activities, seek professional help.. You are free to take an opinion from a cardiologist..

Hi well come to HCM.
yes you should see cardiologist, and get done Holters monitoring which record any
rhythm disorder of heart responsible for palpitation during your routine activity. And you
should also submit foe echo to rule out any structural abnormality responsible for
palpitation and shortness of breath. thanks
