Will Taking Doxycycline Hyclate For Acne Decrease The Immunity Power Of The Body?

I am taking doxycycline hyclate 50mg twice a day for acne, I am concerned about my inmume system being able to fight a major disease if I take an anibotic every day. I also am worried about my natural bacteria that is in my gut will this medication alter anything. Thank you

Hi

See the drug that you have given for the treatment of acne is quite an essential one.
It is a very effective antibiotic in case of acne.
I would advise you to continue with the treatment.
I would have no bad effect over the body immunity as suspected by you.
Now as far as gut bacteria are concerned, yes some degree of alteration can occur with long term use of any oral antibiotics but some drugs are essential and have to be taken for long term.
