Will Taking Norethisterone Prevent Heavy Bleeding Caused After Having Mirena Coil Fitted?
Hi there, I had a mirena coil fitted 14th aug, period started 24th aug, still bleeding 3 and a bit weeks later when I went to nurse on the 17 th sept for 6 wk check, doctor prescribed me norethisterone 5mg 1 x 3 times a day, stopped the heavy bleeding but still odd spots of blood and brown discharge - is this normal?
Heavy bleeding and clots are normal after Mirena insertion. It is nothing to be worried about. The bleeding will lessen and sometimes eventually stop altogether in some women.
