Yellowish Palms And Soles Of Feet. Should I Decrease Carotene Level In Body?
Hi, I have developed yellowish palms and soles of feet due to a healthy diet- a lot of vegetables containing beta carotene . As mentioned, my diet is very healthy and I consume a lot of fruits and vegs. I need to know how to decrease this skin discoloration immediately - the yellowing has made me feel very insecure and unsure. Is there a way to make the yellowish tone disappear quickly? What foods can I eat to decrease the carotene levels in my body? I need immediate solutions and fixes as I am going to get married soon.
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
After going through your history first we should be sure of condition this yellowness is not due to Jaundice with high bilirubin and Severe Anemia causes pallor,Hypothyroid,Diabetes,Anorexia Nervosa.
so please visit a Physician and get examined and investigated for Complete Blood count and Liver function Test,Urine R&M,Renal Function test and if any skin issues examination by a Dermatologist.
If there is any abnormality it should be treated accordingly.
This Carotenaemia occurs in vegetarian and young age (Children)
Beta Carotenaemia is benign and not much treatment is required and color to disappear may take months, once intake of excess of carotene is stopped
Take care
Good Luck.
