Does A CT Scan Detect Tendonitis?
Question: If I have a CAT scan will the damage of sudden impact Levaquin induced tendonitis show?
Will that give me any indication of how to treat this condition?

Hello, a MRI is more accurate in this case. It gives the best imaging information, so, it helps a lot in the treatment too. Greetings.

Thank you. What are the possible treatments? If necrosis shows on the MRI? I have learned so much in recent days from friends and aquaintances who have experienced this. Often the impacts, ruptured achilles tendons etc show up much later. I am trying to understand what, if anything I can do to prevent this damage from getting worse or being permanent. This is difficult as most doctors don't believe this is real and havent read the XXXXXXX FDA Safety Review. I never had any tendon/ joint/muscular issues and since day 8 of my last Levaquin prescription I have had excruciating pain in my legs and knee joints.
Brief Answer:
Rest is the best thing in this case.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
If tendonitis is suspected after quinolone use, first thing to do is to stop the drug and not to use quinolone sin the future.
Weight-bearing restriction is necessary for about 4 weeks in mild cases.
Moderate to severe tendinopathy may require longer restrictions and rest, in cases of Achille's tendon damage, heel lift, counterforce bracing and crutches may be necessary.
However, MRI should give the degree of the damage and, according to this, how long is treatment needed.
