What Causes Abnormally Heterogeneous And Thickened Endometrium?
Question: Hi, what does the following mean? The endometrium is abnormally heterogeneous and thickened, measuring 27mm. It has a heterogenous centre, no internal vascularity was demonstrated. No adnexal mass and no free pelvic fluid detected. Also have a 33mm ovarian cyst. My sister died 3 years ago of cancer in the uterus. Thank you.

Your endometrial thickness is very much increased. This is called endometrial hyperplasia.
Even pattern looks abnormal.
Hence it needs immediate biopsy to rule out cancer. Especially with history of your sister having cancer.
Uterine cancer cannot be ruled out till biopsy is done.
