What Do These MRI Findings Indicate?
I have two MRI's taken four months apart. A neurosurgeon says the results of the second, along with other neurological symptoms I won't bother you with, are suggestive of possible herpesvirus encephalitis, particularly “if the main location of lesions are the temporal lobes”.
I need an expert read of the actual MRI, from someone that can download to Windows and run the viewing application that came with the MRI. It is linked under medical history. Question is: where exactly are the lesions, focus on temporal lobes, and any other findings from your own read of the MRI?
Findings have been correctly reported/No evidence of herpes encephalitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.
I have downloaded your MRI CD's and gone through every detail with the help of dicom viewer.
I can say with no confusion that there is no evidence of herpes encephalitis in this MRI.What appears as blooming in temporal lobes are blooming artifacts.
T2 hyperintensities are seen in cerebral white matter, pons and basal ganglia. These may be of limited clinical importance depending on the patient's clinical picture.
MRI spine shows minor disc bulges at C4-C5 and C5-C6. A prominent disc protrusion at C6-C7,which causes thecal indentation and mildly compromising neural exit foramina.
Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.

Dr.Ajay Panwar,
