Question: In my third trimester ultrasound, sonographer found that my baby is having hydrouretetonephrosis in left kidney due to ureterocele,kidney measures 11mm diameter..what is the treatment after birth of baby

As the diameter is more than 10 mm the variety comes under the category of severe disease. the baby requires followup after birth with ultrasonography and if the obstruction does not relieve with time a definitive surgery to relieve the obstruction is required.

The baby should be started on prophylactic antibiotics after birth and opinion regarding operation from Urosurgeon is required.
