I am having abnormal bleedi notng.....last month I Bedford 37 days. Had a 30 day break and now on day 30 of bleeding, some very heavy and with lots of clots. Doctor wants me to use birth control med to control....I know I have LG fibroids and an o Arian cyst....I am48 yrs old and a devout Catholic.....birth control is not an option for me....suggestions?
Hi ! Even though the pills are one of the means to control the bleeding initially/temporarily, the most appropriate permanent diagnostic and therapeutic modality as per your age and history of fibroids and ovarian cyst in my opinion will be a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo oophorectomy. However, you are advised to consult with your gynaecologist in detail before arriving at a conclusion. You along with your gynaecologist will have to take a decision early to avoid you becoming severely anaemic as your bleeding is heavy. Wishing you an early recovery.
