Are There Any Side Effects Of Removing Ovary And Fibroids?

I have a cyst on my ovary and fibroids. The last visit with my doctor, she informed me it would be best to remove my ovaries. I am 59 and post menopausal. Are my ovaries still producing some hormones? Will there be side effects from having them removed?

Hello madam, from the history you have given, well yes it is ideal to remove the ovaries as they do not function at your age.Ovaries do produce hormones to protect from other disorders, but they become function less at nearly 45 years of age. Hope i was helpful to you.
