Back Pain. MRI Said Minimal Asymmetric Annular Bulge Disc With Right Lateral Recess Narrowing. Meaning?
hi i am 26 year old .i have severe back pain and the pain cotinue to my right leg.i took MRI the impression says - Minimal asymmetric annular bulge in L4-5 disc with right lateral recess narrowing, no significant abnormality in the rest of the IV discs, lumbosacral vertebrae, conus medullaris and thecal sac . pls advise whether i should go for a surgery?
Hello and thanks for the query
By seeing only MRI report we can't take a decision for surgery. Both MRI and Clinical interpretation of the patient are mandatory to take a decision for surgery.
Sometime minimal bulge showed in MRI can cause a severe symptoms in the patient and we have to take a decision for surgery. If you have acute attack of pain and it is resolving by time than we can wait for surgery.
But if pain is chronic and you have some weakness in your leg than and not resolving than you might be a candidate for surgery.
Better to consult your doctor. He is the best person to take decision about this.
Best Wishes
