Can Bilateral Congenital Ptosis And Speech Delay In Infant Can Be Related?

My son has bilateral congenital ptosis. He also has speech delay. I was wondering if the two could be related? He is 18 months old. He has seen an eye specialist twice (every 6 mo.) With no changes, although recently I noticed one eye seems more droopy. He has been going to speech therapy for 3 months now. The therapist says he feela like he has trouble forming words but he is too young to know if there is more to his speech delay at this point...

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Congenital ptosis and speech delay can be related. If he has developmental delay and weakness in his leg muscles, he needs to be worked up for Muscular Dystrophy (it is a condition which affects the muscle). If he doesnt have any other associated problem, he well improve with age.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
