Colitis Started Flaring Up After Inserting Mirena IUD. Would A Regular IUD Been A Better Choice?
I have colitis and have been in remission for over a year. Last week I had a Mirena IUD put in and within a couple of days my colitis started acting up. Can the hormones in the IUD cause my colitis to flare? Would a regular IUD without the hormones have been a better choice?
with my experience ofdiagnosing patients of these type of diseases we take into account about history of all these so the chances are more with iud with hartmones but that can be due to normal also it is matter of adaption of foreign body by our body proteins
