Common Cold, Cough, Sore Throat, Runny Nose, Congestion. How Do I Know If I'm Getting Better?

Hello. I am a 44 year old female and I believe I have a common cold. However,I have a question. If I first started out with the typical common cold symptoms (sore throat, runny nose, congestion, etc.), but I now notice my cough has gone from dry to wet, is that a sign I'm getting better? I have been experiencing the typical symptoms for approximately 3 days now.

Thank you

common cold normally runs it's course of 5-7 days & improves on it's own.If after 3 days,UR general condition has improved(pain in throat, fever if any & body ache),then you are improving & will be alright with time.If UR symptoms are getting worse, then you should consult the doctor,as this may be a sign of secondary bacterial infection.Dr.Alok Mathur
