Feeling Of Mucus Stuck In Back Of Throat, Done Tonsillectomy, Have Scar Tissue And Bad Breath. Cancer?

I feel like i have mucus stuck in back of my throat. Primarily on right side. I had a tonsillectomy about 8 yrs ago. It looks like i have scar tissue on that side as well. I alsohave bad breath which is very embarrasing. I had an upper gi test done almost two yrs ago. Would that test have shown anything like cancer?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Dear cbarton
Hello I am Dr Ravinder Sharma ENY surgeon
On the basis of information provided it appears that you have problem of thick secretions (may be allergic phenomena) . However presence of foul smell is suggestive of the focus of infection. It can aslo occue if there is residual tonsil in the fossa I would advise you for a work up by a ENT surgeon. It does not appear to be cancer

wthanking you
with regards
Ravinder Sharma
