Had Surgical Menopause Due To Bilateral Oopherectomy. Taking Medication For Hypothyroid. Medical Cure For This?
Hi, I had surgical menopause due to bilateral oopherectomy done at 24years and 29years. I have menopause from 30 years. At 48 years it was found that I had endometrial thickening and on curettage a polyp attached high up in the endometrial cavity was removed. The impression was 'Endometrium suggestive of Adenomatous Polyp". Now I am 49 years and once again the trans vaginal scan shows that the endometrium appears thickened and echogenic approximately 14.4mm. For the past one year I am taking medication for hypothyroid. I am told to go in for the same procedure done earlier. Is there any other solution? How can the thickening of the endometrium be controlled. I have not taken any hormone pills ever.
Sometimes even after menopause also endometrial growth can be noticed due to the production of the hormones from other organs like adrenals, fat tissues etc.
So your endometrial growth could be due to this.
You can undergo curettage as adviced by your doctor and if the histopathology comes as benign no need to worry.
If you are having excess weight try to decrease that can help to some extent in preventing these problems in future.
