Have IBS, Stomach Bloating, Unable To Pass Gas, Lower Abdominal And Back Pain, Baggy Renal Pelvis. What Does This Suggest?

hi my name is Lisa,
I have been having stomach problems for about 2 years now and my doctor boils it down to IBS. However, it has gotten worse over the years. I am constipated most of the time and my stomach bloats. I do have gas as well. moreover since of late I have been having more problems with my stomach. I'm still constipated most of the time, feel like I cannot pass gas, and now my lower abdomen and lower back hurts as well.I had an abdominal CT done in 2011 and this is what it said, "There are small hypodense lesions in the posterior wall, fundus of the uterus which may suggest of uterine fibroids. Both ovaries are not positively identified. no adnexal mass or cyst seen. there is a tiny amount of free fluid in the pouch of douglas and baggy renal pelvis on both sides. could it be due to these findings? should I see a doctor again?
Thanks alot,
L

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there ~

I understand your condition and concern for the same. I also think that having a chronic condition can be mentally draining and it seems like you have been suffering for a long time. Constipation is not related to the finding of the tiny amount of free fluid in the pouch of douglas. IBS also has its relationship with stress levels and a visit with a psychiatrist qualified in treating patients with IBS might be helpful. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
